Derby Vs Leeds United

Hi good evening yesterday I had the pleasure of watching two good clubs trying to get promotion to the English Premier League. The two side Derby Vs Leeds United and it was an hard fought battle with the game ended going to Derby. They face Aston Villa in the final to see who gets promoted back to top flight in the Premership.

Now these kind of games are why Europe are producing all these good footballers because every one wants to play in the top Premership whether it the English Premier League or the La Liga in Spain, the League 1 in France or any top League in Europe you have to work hard to get into that league and you have to work even harder to stay in the league, which bring out the best in the footballers that play in these leagues in Europe. Yesterday's game between these two side you could see that both teams want to get back to the top League in England. At the end of the day Derby won the game and are one win away from getting back to the top but so to is Aston Villa so who will get that spot back to the Premier League we will soon know good luck to both teams.

ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

Hi good morning the ICC Cricket World Cup will be starting from May 30-July 14 this year and it will be the 12th edition of this tournament which will take place in England this year. The competition started in 1975 and has been going since. The first World Cup was won by the West Indies in 1975 and they repeated their efforts in 1979.

This tournament has been dominated by the defending champions Australia who have won the World Cup 5 times, they won the 1987, 1999 which was hosted in England, defended their titles in 2003 in South Africa and made it a hat trick of wins in 2007 in the West Indies. Afghanistan are playing in their second world cup after qualifying  last year in a tournament for the last two spots the West Indies got the other spot. Others winners include India the 1983 and 2011 champions are also tournament favourites, 1992 winners Pakistan and 1996 winners Sri Lanka. The ten teams tournament includes Australia, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Afagastian,Bangladesh, West Indies and host England.

England head into the world cup this year as the world number 1 side and have been the most dominant side in ODI cricket over the last few years scoring over 300 runs on a consistent basis and being on home soils should strengthen their chances at winning this world cup. I hope this tournament lives up to be good as the 11 World Cup before this one and let's hope for tournament that would deliver the best out of these countries.

We are Finally Going to Use the Couva Children Hospital

Hi good morning and thank God we have finally found a use for this hospital in Couva. Earlier this week the opposition MP. for Naparima Mr. Charles stated that there was good working equipment in this hospital and why it wasn't being used by the government so on hearing this I am very happy that we are finally going to use this facility to help us out with our health care.

This hospital was built under the People Partnership Government and has been much talk about for the last four years. This hospital was supposed to be a children hospital but I don't know if it still be used as that, but never the less as long as we use it to help citizens and save as much lives as we can is a major contribution, so I say to our health minister well done on this but it's long over due. In a country there can never be enough health care facilities because the current hospital are always backup and it's hour before you get attandence not saying by opening this hospital you get attendance in 5 minutes that would have been wonderful but at least it will help out our current existing health care system.

Protect our School

Hi good morning this topic comes from  an incident that happen at a school in my country this week where a teacher was stabbed in front of her class. Now this is unfortunate and I'm not going to blame the authorities but I like to discuss issues so before I start this topic this is not the first time this has happened so let try to make this the last if we can last year I recall a teacher was robbed in the southern part of my country in the school car park so let's start looking for solution and moving forward.

The following are some solutions to take for suggestion if they seem up to your standard.

1. Police officers -put 2 armed police officers to partner the M.T.S. security guards at these schools. With police there people wouldn't put our little one at risk.

2. Increase the amount of M.T.S. guards to back up the police officers in the compound during the school hours. The more man power will be greatly appreciated.

3. Put a Squad car meaning a police car near by the school so back up will be near because these days you can't be to careful so it a suggestion you don't have to take it but let hope something is being tried. That all from me one this topic and till the next one this has been Chris discussing daily topics.

Sexy Education

Morning this topic today comes from stats showing that there have been a lot of teenaged pregnancy in my country in the last 4 years. To start with in my country it is  of my view that people in authority think school children only go to school to learn
maths,English,History and Science but I try to educate the people who don't know children are sexually active during school hours during the day.

It is always talk about putting this programme in the school system  but it has only been talk, you see they don't believe sexually activites are taking place but when you look at the amount of pregnancies taking place by now the ought to think different. Let take a look at 2 simple plans that can ease up this problem.

1. Bring someone to educate young people in school about having sex also all the dangers that come with unprotected sex, go in depth with topics like STD, HIV/AIDS and Pregnancy so they will understand and you might put off some of the students till they are older from having sex.

2. Now as in life the will still be young people eager to have sex despite what you tell them so have a Condom drive to all secondary school it will help and yes we are not encouraging but we are trying to help a siaution.

These are all suggestions to try to help out this problem but it is time to try something instead of talking there are many options but try something and start moving forward to address this but till then we wait and see how  it all comes together and till the next one this has been Chris discussing daily topics

The Successes of English Football

The topic English football successes this season. They English league is over and Manchester City F.C. won the Premier League well done to them but I more speaking about the 4 English club that will be taking part in the U.E.F.A Champion League and EUROPA League final. All four clubs are from England this year.

Lets start with the Champion League, it will be a while before anyone forgets the efforts of Liverpool F.C who came from 3 goal down to defeat one of the best clubs in the world Barcolena F. C. in their second leg. The face their English rivals in Tottenham Hotspur F.C. in the final of this year competition. Tottenham F.C. has had a good season in the premiership this year as well so this will be a good final.

Europa League Final this year has my two favourite football clubs from England Chelsea F.C. versus Arsenal F.C. the two teams I just love to see play football, both teams have had a good Europa tournament, Arsenal F.C. has come through some tough games to reach the finals of this year event and will be looking for some sliver wear to wrap up this season, the same can be said for Chelsea F.C who will be looking to close what will be a good season with another trophy to add to their cabinet this will be a good final. Good luck to my two most favourite clubs and also good luck to Liverpool F.C. and Tottenham F.C.

ODI Cricket

Hi morning I'm currently watching a game between England and Pakistan it's the third match of this series and it's amazing how the game of cricket has change in this format. About 20 years ago 290 to 310 was a winning score batting first for any side but now it's like you have to make 380 batting first to think it's a winning score, I wonder if this is because of T20 cricket has done this to the ODI game but it bring more excitement and more spectators to games now. This hopefully will make the upcoming ICC World Cup more interesting.

Trinidad and Tobago 4x400 Men's Relay Team

Hi good afternoon that's my topic today the success of the men's 4x400 men relay squad that won gold yesterday in Japan. The 2017 IAAF World  Champions in this event won yesterday race just ahead of the United States of America who was unfortunately disqualified after putting our Caribbean brothers Jamaica in second place and Beligum in third place, despite the Americans were disqualified let's give the credits they ran an extremely good race let take nothing away from them they pushed us to our limit and also to beat Jamaica who dominate Track and Field events that a big performance.

Coming into yesterday final as one of the favourite to win our boys showed great determination and courage and a big hand must be given to our anchor Machel Cedenio who ran the race of his life yesterday coming from third to finish first in a near photo finish on the line. The team that ran yesterday included Asa Guevara, Jereem Richards, Deon Lendore and Machel Cedenio not the same team that won gold at the IAAF world championship in 2017 that team was Jarrin Solomon, Lalonde Gordon, Jereem Richards and Machel Cedenio I also believe Renny Quow was in the mix with that team but never the less it was the same result and I congratulate them for doing us proud at this World Relays in Japan.

I hope this team can win gold in the IAAF Championship later this year and also a gold medal in the Olympics Games next year I know it will be hard but I hope we can do it now people don't find I want a lot of gold but we have not had a rich history of gold in Olympics Games like our Carribbean brothers Jamaica so I'm seeing some more gold in these boys and I hope my government give them enough to help them aquire success because they are performing so I hope they are taken care of and yet again we'll done boys and till the next one this has been Chris discussing daily topics.

Trade Unions strike

Hi good afternoon the trade unions  of my country seems to be planning a day of protest in June. These unions leaders seem not to be getting through with the current talks they are having with the present government so I wonder if this strike will have any effect at this time I mean from my previous blog I have stated stand up and demand more I also stressed in a peaceful manner without violence but these trade union seems to be frustrated after all many have lost their members due to retrenchment and are trying to take a stand before they don't have no more members to represent.

Trade Unions claim government has wage war against them and as I stated in a previous blog to me the government has been one step ahead of these union leaders so I don't know if they have come up with a new plan to help workers from being sent home, if so that great news what will be better news is if they can get back those workers who were retrenched their jobs back, but they seemed to be united this time in a fight they say they are prepared for but I have heard this talk before and hope for workers sake they are coming with their best. It takes a lot to be a trade union leader right now in Trinidad because of the fact you can't save your members from being sent home.

Now that's  the unions are planning this day of action will workers support these actions with all the laying that has happened, the current people who still have their jobs will they risk supporting this type of action, it will have people willing as always but no one wants to lose what they have despite how little it pays. Trade Unions have not gotten a pay raise for their member for six years now and might not be able to secure any pay increase soon, the working force need to consider their options. If these trade unions wants the people support in my view they need to step up their game 100 percent and tackle issues and start back safe guarding workers and show they can stand their ground and then the people will be back with them till then we just have to see how it plays out but i wish them luck and till the next on this has been Chris discussing daily topics.

Brian Lara Stadium

Hi good afternoon the topic above is coming from the fact that I'm hearing that this stadium does not have a certified document from the International Cricket Council to stating that it can host international cricket. First of all in 2004 when Brian Lara had scored 400 in the fourth test match against England he was promised this stadium which took forever to finish build but thank God it was eventually finished then we were lucky to have CPL Caribbean Premier League in this stadium so I though all this had been taken care of, but this week we learnt that the stadium was not approved to host international cricket. Now this stadium is very beautiful and I believe it will be an excellent international venue but everything about this stadium is very slow in doing to build it took about 10 years then now after using it on a consistent basis for the past 3 years and still not having documents from the International Cricket Council is a big disappointment and this stadium was build for our best batman we ever produced in the West Indies.

Brian Lara finished his international career after the 2007 Cricket World Cup 12 years ago he broke Matthew Hayden 380 runs 15 years ago and this man should have already seen many test and ODI cricket in his stadium for a man who represented the West Indies and has so many records I don't believe we did him justice with this stadium as yet now don't get me out of context he has a stadium in his name put everything had moved to slow to honnor this icon of West Indies Cricket and son of this soil hoping we get this stadium up to international approval soon and till the next one this has been Chris discussing daily topics.

Did the UNC really built 106 Schools

Hi good night I'm here tonight looking at the 7p.m. news and I'm seeing a story that the former government that was in power from May 2010 - September 2015 had build 106 schools in 5 years now if this is true I give you guys full credit, this story I am write come from the present government calling on the opposition to name all the schools they constructed in the 5 years they were in office, now for instance 106 schools is a good achievement for any government but the opposition named 106 schools they claim they build now that is one more thing showing the dedication they had for this country when they were in office. In Trinidad and Tobago the party that has govern the most has been the P.N.M. they have won many elections but are they serving the people, I am a person that likes performance and love to see people account for what they did because to me evidence of what you do makes you look good so I'm asking this question I know we like old talk in Trinidad and Tobago but is the P.N.M. government really taking care of us as citizens food for thought and till the next one this has been Chris discussing daily topics.

Champions League

The UEFA champions League  final this year will be an all English affair after Tottenham just beat Ajax on the away goal rules and are heading to face Liverpool in the final. One thing we already know is the winner of the Champions League this year will come from England. Wish the both English Clubs in the final all the best.

Liverpool

Hi goodnight to all my football fans today Liverpool Football Club over turned a 0-3 aggregate against Barcelona today to reach the UEFA Champions league final with what some are calling a miracle, coming into today's game everyone had counted the English club out needing a performance of a life time and that exactly what they English side did  scoring a 4-3 win something most people didn't give them a chance after last week first leg I thought this semi final was over but we'll done to Liverpool and best of luck in the Champion League final.

Taxes

Hi good morning taxes is the topic on my mind as how I'm hearing the finance minister of my country coming to give the mid year review knowing all this minister has done since his first budget to now is just raise taxes on citizens. Gas is the thing this man loves to send up so I'm hoping he leaves the price of gas where it is and takes into consideration people have not been given a raise in pay since 2013 so much needed consideration must be given. With all these taxes we have paid since 2015 to present it not the same for normal citizens as grocery prices are high also my Wasa bill has also increased and sometimes I can get water but they telling me all these taxes are for my betterment as a citizen but everytime they tax me its making me come to a standard of living that I can't even  enjoying my payday and the people in charge don't spend on grocery, gas and health care and eat they best speaking of health care Nis has risen under the present government but that is also for my benefit but the hospital in my country don't give medication to poor people they give you a paper to go to a pharmacy and if you have money you get it and if you don't you have to wait till you get money put my Nis is up so who is all these taxes benefiting not me can't even go and buy some ice cream when I get paid causes is tax tax tax but if the only way to get money in our treasury is to tax citizens then we need proper management and that's food for thought and till the next one this has been Chris discussing daily topics.

Fashion

This topic come from the Billboard Awards that I happen to view last week. On the pre-show I saw many stars but the stars that stood out to me was the likes of Terry Crews, Jenifer Hudson the Jonas Brothers and the Goddess of WWE Alexia Bliss. Terry Crews looked the part in his outfit but the way the man is built anything can fit the man and he looks goods. Jenifer Hudson look adorable in her outfit while doing her interview not to be left out the Jonas brothers looked as sharpe as always now these boys to me have always been really good when it come to fashion sense from ever since I can remember these boys always know what to wear, Nick Jonas wife  also looked lovely as always and to finish off the list that caught my eye I saw the resident Goddess of WWE at the pre-show and she really looked like a goddess these were the superstars who fashions wear on the night caught my eye not saying all the rest of the superstars didn't look good but these were the stars that caught my eye.

West Indies Openers

Hi good morning the topic today is the success of the two West Indies Openers coming off yesterday win in Ireland. Let's start off with John Campbell who struck his first Century at international level in a well constructed innings and in a record opening partnership in One Day International cricket so well done to him and hopes he comes up with a lot more. And let's talk about his opening partner Hope let's remember ourabout two years ago our best batsman that we ever produced Brian Lara said he was one for the future and Mr. Hope has certainly delivered at the international level his 170 was a master class innings with lots of good stroke selections, this century give him 5 ODI centuries and as I stated when the world cup team was named he was going to be a big player if the West Indies is to progress in the May 30 to July 14 tournament. Hope has all the qualities to be one of crickets best batman and I hope he proves it in the World Cup, well done two these two fine talents and yes I know it was against a lesser know team but Hope has centuries against higher rank teams like India and Bangladesh so we take nothing from his performance, this was a short one today so till the next one this has been Chris discussing daily topics.

Neutral Speaker

Hi good morning today's topic Neutral Speaker for the Parliament of my country. For the longest while I have been waiting for someone to write about this but I haven't seen anyone doing it so I take a crack at it as I state two days ago the member of parliament for Princes Town was put out by the speaker of the house of representatives but she is a member of the ruling government but every government puts a speaker who is a member of their party when elected and I believe this should stop. Parliament is a place to discuss the people issues and if you have a neutral speaker things might run better because no one will have a side you just there to do a job in cricket both umpire are from to different countries from the countries that are playing each other the same applies in football and they same must be applied for our parliament, let go back to when the member of parliament for Princes Town was speaking and got deep into the water problem he was put out by the speaker of the house a know member of the government cause his statements were making the government look bad now if it was a neutral speaker it might not have ended up in this so there should be some thought on changing this system for the people to be represented without their member of parliament being kicked out. This is 2019 and certain things that used to work long ago can't work now, parliament is a place where issues need to be discussed not swept under the rug when things get to personal. A neutral speaker would mean he has no side to the government or opposition he just doing his job and making sure the house of representatives keeps going during debates so they people of the country will benefits because the people must not be ignored hope this matter is taken serious in the future well that my topic till the next one this is Chris discussing daily topics

May Day Celebration

Hi good afternoon the topic above May Day Celebration. Yesterday is was standing in a May Day celebration in my country and was listen to the leaders of various trade union talk and they said that they were willing to keep up the pressure on the government for workers but to me for the last couple of years the government have always been one step ahead of the unions in my country, as I stated in one of my earlier blogs their have been a lot of workers being send home and these union leaders have don't nothing to help the workers keep their jobs but yesterday the said that they would continue to pressure the present government for workers but I've heard this time and time again but when it comes to seeing action I haven't seen nothing coming now I'm not saying start a roit or any things to bring harm to people or citizens but to me the unions have been losing this battle hand down and workers don't seem to have the faith they once had in these union leaders so standing up there and stating to wage war to me wasn't the best statement. Worker often join unions to help them save gaurd their jobs but when you see workers in union going home and the union can't save their jobs it frightening to say the least, at every turn the government continues been in front of these union leaders which brings their current statement which is government hates the labour movement and are trying to destroy workers but even if that is true I believe the current labour leaders are not like the people they took over from and lack that fire to represent workers and make sure they keep their jobs so people don't have faith in unions like 20 years ago, I'm not saying all the union leaders are bad but to me our best union leader in this country right now is Waston Duke he has fire and conviction in his duties he is the P.S.A President currently and has fought hard we need some more union leaders like him to bring back people believing in unions and get back the massive crowds like when Errol McLeod and Jenifer Baptiste- Primus used to be speaking in those days it's was thousands of people marching and they hard more ideas how to help workers keep their jobs and they were always on step ahead of the government in their time I hope my country gets back union leaders like them soon for the sake of our workers. On that note I done for today but I like to thank everyone who takes time in their busy day to read my blog I really appreciate it and till the next one this has been Chris discussing daily topics.

Protesting for things you want

Hi good morning my topic today is protesting for things you want. Now in my country it seems like if you want something like you have to go out there and protest because like you don't get anything unless you take this course of actions, now this shouldn't be as in every country in the world has a government to serve the people because everyone know it's people who puts a government in office now let's brake down how when you vote for a party how you benefit their lives, they get a raise in pay with immediate effect, the get access to fly in and out of any country in the world and stay at the best hotels, they get the best health care while when you sick you have to foldup on a chair in the hospital and wait for hours to get attandence and far from finish on benefits they get but not leaving out this one they get to eat and drink the best food while you eat bread and butter, and you what put them in office gets nothing near to this luxury life you are instantly forgotten and have to beg to see them and when you do get to see them they give you five minutes of their time if so much now that should not be that's what leads to the various protest because people and to be honest poor people who do these things are never rewarded for helping you get to live like a public figure these are thing I would like to see stop go back and help the people who help you get in this position don't let them have to beg you and protesting and then you telling them be patient and hoping it blows over so you would have to do your job this is 2019 and I hope people are seeing it people who put a government in office by voting so people don't take yourself for granted you have the power to who represents you, gone should be the days of people holding protest in the hot sun, sometimes for days you protesting and frustrated and hoping the media comes to show your story for the rest of the country and world to see while they kick back under air condition in their office that ain't right in this modern times so let's start moving together and making better decision so authorities would know we want representation on that note till the next one this has been Chris discussing daily topics.

Water problems in South Trinidad

Hi good night the topic today is water problems in South Trinidad. We were told this year it was going to be a very dry season in my country for who don't know I'm from Trinidad and Tobago and right now people in the southern part of my country are without water and doing some protesting to see if they can get some relief. Today the member for Parliament  for Princes Town Barry Padarath was put out from parliament after speaking  about the residents water problem that being said he had been with these resident and hearing their cries and complaints so he was just trying to help out the residents struggling to get a water supply let's take a minute's to say thanks to the member for Princes Town. Now let's see what will happen over the next few days to see if these residents will get some water, I'm also seeing on the news tonight a resident from this same area stating he has 16 tanks and 15 are empty there are also reports that schools in this district are being closed for lack of water supply now the government can't create water but I believe that things must not have to reach to this for people to get water in their homes these are people just like me and I believe better has to be done so we don't have a repeat of this problem, we are still in our dry season and our water stations can't produce water like how we are used to but this is a serious problem people in South Trinidad are currently going through, hoping this problem is fixed as quick as possible and I hope someone looks into this matter on that note that my topic for today till the next one this is Chris discussing daily topics
